Alaska Crossings utilizes experiential education both as a philosophy and as a methodology. Experiential education is practiced in a hands-on environment, and is based on purposeful engagement in firsthand experiences. The participants work with the instructors to reflect upon these experiences, and to develop an understanding of skills that can be applied at home, at school and in the community. Participants leave the program with an improved understanding of their specific learning style and ways to apply this knowledge in their lives.
