Alaska Crossings provides innovative programs designed to address the individual
needs of our participants. Please follow the links to learn more and choose the program that best
suits your needs.
Our Alaska Crossings wilderness behavioral health program is based on our PADDLER skills development
curriculum; PADDLER is an acronym for the concepts skills that we teach as keys to personal success.
The program provides a wilderness therapy context for youth facing personal challenges in their home,
school and community. Our 51-day wilderness expeditions provide a structured and nurturing environment
for building confidence and necessary life and personal skills in order for youth to be more successful
in their life beyond the program.
Our FLOAT School program (Float Learning Opportunities for Academic Triumph) is a unique field-based
alternative science curriculum for Alaska Native youth. We offer 10 day and 30 day programs designed
to take full advantage of the wilderness classroom for experiential learning and scientific study.
The possibilities are as expansive as the landscape. Interested organizations and school
groups are invited to take advantage of our outstanding facilities and expert guides by contracting
with Alaska Crossings for a comprehensive, specialized program on the mountains, river and coast of
Southeast Alaska and British Columbia, Canada.
Programs can be designed to operate for anywhere from ten days to over a month long, and adapted to include
your chosen balance of time spent in the field and time spent aboard our floating Marine Science facility,
SEA Island. We supply you with experienced guides, well versed in local knowledge and natural history, and
take care of all logistics (aside from your flight to Wrangell, Alaska), leaving you time and energy for
making the most of this amazing environment. Prices vary and are dependent on length of program and
specific group needs.
