Mentoring Relationships
We believe that building trust through positive relationships helps youth to find their way to
greater self-esteem, confidence and success in their daily lives. We recognize that these
relationships take time, effort and consistency to develop. For this reason, the assigned
field guide team remains with their group for the full 51-days of the program. They share
daily challenges, joys, and accomplishments, providing continuity and building healthy relationships.
They work diligently to create an atmosphere of openness and trust by mentoring participants, setting and
emulating standards and teaching skills to provide an emotionally sound environment.
